Import rules

Import Rules & Documentation

Food is one of the most document-sensitive categories. We align the paperwork to the destination so your cartons are not held at customs.

The EU and UK apply the strictest food-import rules, requiring correct labelling, ingredient and allergen declarations, and in some cases prior notification or health certificates. Ukraine has its own conformity and labelling regime. Because shelf life is also a factor, we match the transit time to the remaining expiry: a product with a short date life should not spend a week in transit, which is exactly why air freight — rather than slow sea — is the sensible route for time-sensitive snacks. We flag any product that looks homemade, unpackaged or unlabelled before pickup.

Documents we expect

  • Commercial invoice with product and HS code
  • Packing list with expiry dates
  • Destination-language product labels
  • Ingredient / allergen statement where required
  • Extra health docs for EU / UK food imports

What we cannot take

Fresh or perishable goods, meat, dairy, eggs, unlabelled homemade products and prohibited items are not accepted. We confirm product-by-product against what can I ship and the customs guide.

FAQ

Food Shipping Questions

Can packaged food and snacks be shipped by air from China?
Yes — shelf-stable, commercially packaged dry foods, snacks and sealed beverages commonly fly. Fresh, perishable, meat, dairy or unlabelled products are restricted or prohibited and must be checked first.
What documents are needed to import food by air?
Invoice, packing list, destination-language labels and an ingredient/expiry statement; EU and UK imports may need extra food-safety docs. See the customs guide.
How should food be packed for air freight?
Intact factory seals, dry cartons, visible expiry dates and leak-proof upright packing for beverages, on a short transit route that fits the shelf life.
