Powder cargo

What We Ship

Powder shipments fail on two things: dust leakage and wrong classification. We handle both by sealing units tightly and confirming whether your powder is food-grade, cosmetic or industrial before booking.

Food powders

Protein powder, milk powder, matcha, coffee powder, spice blends and flour — often grouped with food shipments.

Cosmetic powders

Talc, face powder, eyeshadow bulk, toothpowder and hair colour powder — alongside cosmetics.

Industrial powders

Printer toner, chemical additives, ceramic powder and non-hazardous metal powders, in fibre drums.

Classification

Classification & MSDS

Airlines need to know whether a powder is combustible, oxidising or chemically reactive. We request the right document for each line.

Food and cosmetic powders are by far the simplest to ship: sealed, non-hazardous and supported by a product specification, they travel as general cargo in fibre drums or strong cartons. The items that slow a booking are fine chemical powders that can form dust explosions, metal powders that are oxidising, or dry powders that absorb moisture. In those cases we route the shipment on a carrier authorised for the relevant provision and add the required handling label. When we cannot confirm a classification from the documents provided, we tell you straight away rather than risk a refusal at the terminal.

Document we ask for

  • Product specification / MSDS stating composition
  • Confirmation the powder is non-combustible (where applicable)
  • Food-grade certificate for edible powders
  • Commercial invoice with accurate HS code

How it affects the booking

Most everyday powders fly as general cargo. Combustible, oxidising or chemically active powders are handled as sensitive / dangerous goods and may need limited-quantity rules or a different carrier. We tell you which lane your powder fits before you pay.
